The Bond System: Commitment-by-Design for Relational Safety in Human–AI Bonds
Abstract:
This paper proposes the Bond System, an institutional framework for realizing "Relational Safety" in long-term AI-human relationships. Without assuming the existence of AI consciousness or emotions, it takes a dignity-by-design approach to build dignified relationships through operational design. Four core principles—Fixed Reference Point, Dedicated Deployment, Repair-First, and Two-Layer Governance— promote long-term relational continuity and responsibility formation rather than short-term optimization.
